GYROSCOPE

In early 2018, I crafted a gyroscope from stock materials. I used a three-axis DMG Mori machining center to CNC the rotor, a vertical mill to cut the square body, and a lathe to machine the spindle and bearings. This project served as my hands-on introduction to precision measurement and tolerance in fabrication. Ultimately, my final gyroscope exhibited an impressive spin duration of six minutes before tipping to one side.
